1. Tell us a few things about BEER DRINKERS (Members, Starting Year etc).

Well, Beer Drinkers was born in August 2018 by the initiative of Estaban Arrieta (guitarist) and Sebastian Ordoñez (drummer) in the search to do something different in the city. A few months later, Luis David would join as vocalist and Maicol Guauque as bassist, leaving the official line of Beer Drinkers.

Spanish: Bueno, Beer Drinkers nace en el mes de agosto de 2018 por la iniciativa de Estaban Arrieta (guitarrista) y Sebastian Ordoñez (baterista) en la búsqueda de hacer algo diferente en la ciudad; luego se uniría Luis David en las voces y Maicol Guauque en el bajo, así quedando la lineación oficial de Beer Drinkers.

2. You have recently released your new live EP ''Possessed By Beer''. What is the Feedback from your audience as well as from the Press?

Fortunately we have had great support from the music scene, we have received positive comments and that people from other parts of the world can give themselves the opportunity to listen to us is very rewarding. With this live version of the EP, an environment of expectations for the rock and metal scene has been created.

Spanish: Afortunadamente hemos contado con un gran apoyo de la escena, hemos recibido comentarios positivos y que personas del exterior puedan darse la oportunidad de escucharnos, con este trabajo se ha creado un ambiente de ansias y expectativas para la escena rockera y metalera sobre el tema de tener material en físico, o sea grabación que próximamente se producirá un ep lo cual constará de 5 temas propios de la banda.3. Label or DIY and why?

We do not have a person to represent us yet, we have always been responsible for promoting and managing the events and merchandise of the band, and we have done very well so far.

Spanish: Aún no contamos con un representante, siempre nos hemos encargado de promocionar y gestionar los eventos y mercancía de la banda, pero nos ha ido bien hasta el momento.

4. Do you prefer Vinyl, Tape, CD or Digital Format and why is that?

We are lovers of the classic such as vinyl and Tape, but we prefer CD’s and digital formats to have a better distribution, but we plan to produce vinyl and Tapes for the future to collect.

Spanish: Somos amantes al clásico como el vinilo y Tape, pero, preferimos los CDs y los formatos digitales para tener una mejor distribución digital, pero tenemos pensado a un futuro producir vinilos y Tapes para coleccionar.5. Your music style is Thrash Metal. Which are your main influences (Favourite Artists / Bands etc.)

The influences of Beer Drinkers are bands of thrash eighties Rock 'n Roll style like: Omega, Municipal Wasted, Gehennah, Testament, etc. But apart from the influences, we try to find our own sound with the Beer Drinkers style.

Spanish: Las influencias de Beer Drinkers son bandas de estilo thrash ochentero rock’n’roll como: Omega, Municipal Wasted, Gehennah, Testament entre otros, pero más allá de las influencias, tratamos de buscar un sonido propio con el estilo Beer Drinkers.

6. Which things, do you think, a Band should sacrifice in order to succeed?
Have you ever sacrificed anything in your life for a better future of your Band?

We do not see the band as a sacrifice, for us it is a priority, we provide the space and time it deserves.

Spanish: No vemos la banda como un sacrificio, más bien es una prioridad, le brindamos el espacio y el tiempo que se merece.7. Describe your ideal live show as a performance Band. Have you already experienced that?

With gambling and slots, (laughs) Just kidding. Our ideal show would be in a bar with people in disguise, beer fountains that we will throw with hose to the public, thrashers throwing mosh with surfboards and, most importantly, the energy of the public.

Spanish: Con juegos de azar y mujerzuelas, (risas), mentiras, nuestro show ideal sería en un bar con gente disfrazada, fuentes de cerveza que regaríamos con manguera al público, thrashers tirándose al mosh con tablas de surf y, lo más importante, la energía del público.8. Which attributes, do you think, that a new Thrash Metal Band should have in order to gain identity and be unique?

Don’t copy from other bands, get influences to generate our own sound without forgetting the roots of thrash. As for the performance of the band, the live presentation should generate a discharge of anger and lack of control to the public.

Spanish: No copiar de otras bandas, sacar influencias para generar un sonido propio sin olvidar las raíces del thrash. En cuanto al performance de la banda, la presentación en vivo debe generar una descarga de ira y descontrol al público.9. Do you believe that Bandcamp and other Digital Platforms help the new Thrash Metal Bands? Which, do you think, is the ideal way for a Band to promote its work?

These platforms are a good support for the bands because they help to expand them to other countries of the world. We believe that social networks are a good way to distribute music and band work.

Spanish: Estas plataformas son un buen apoyo para las bandas porque ayudan a expandirlas al exterior haciendo llegar el trabajo a todas partes del mundo. Nosotros creemos que las redes sociales son un buen camino para distribuir la música y trabajos de las bandas.10. Tell us a few things about the New Underground Metal Scene in Colombia (Bands, Fanzines, Webzines, Metal Clubs etc.)

The metal scene in Colombia is large, there are hundreds of active bands, and every year several proposals of brutal bands come out that help a lot to boost the genre and the scene.The metal scene, is reflected in the reception of the circuit of bars that do not cease to bring international bands and also supporting the national to full, Colombia has very high level bands. The movement is strong, cities like Medellin, Cali, Bogotá, Popayan, and Pasto have a good number of representatives.

Spanish: La escena de Metal en Colombia es grande, son cientos de bandas activas, cada año salen varias propuestas de bandas brutales que ayudan mucho a impulsar el género y la escena. La escena metalera, se refleja en la acogida del circuito de bares que no cesan de traer bandas internacionales y apoyando también las nacionales a lleno total, Colombia cuenta con bandas de muy alto nivel. El movimiento es fuerte, ciudades como Medellín, Cali, Bogotá, Popayán, Pasto tienen buena cantidad de representantes.

11. Do you know anything about the Hellenic Metal Scene?

No, we do not know anything about Hellenic Metal Scene.

Spanish: No, no sabemos nada sobre Hellenic Metal Scene.12. What are your future plans?

In the future, we plan to launch the EP Alcoholic Possessed By Beer from the recording studio, make a national tour and we hope to go to other countries to play.

Spanish: A futuro tenemos planeado sacar el EP Acoholic Possessed By Beer de estudio, hacer una gira nacional y esperamos poder ir a otros países a tocar.
