Welcome to the FILTHY DOGS OF METAL Webzine.
Tell us a few things about CRACKWHORE (Members, Starting Year etc).
We’re Crackwhöre a 3 piece rock n’roll band and we drink a lot of alcohol.
You have recently released your EP ''Heroin Supremacy''. What is the feedback from your audience as well as from the press?
There hasn’t been a lot of feedback for now because the EP was released just now and it’s the only thing that has been released from this band.
Label or DIY and why?
Why not DIY Label? I think they are extremely cool, their productions are often unique and creative. But yeah, I think that a record label should be something that’s earned, you have to stand out somehow for a label to recognize you. I wonder how with all these releases in the underground metal scene mainly smaller labels can still keep up!
Is there any funny or weird story from the recordings or from your live shows that you would like to share with us?
We obviously still haven’t played shows until now, the writing process was great, drunk mess!
Do you prefer Vinyl, Tape, CD or Digital Format and why is that?
I personally don’t have any preference, I collect both Vinyl and Tape. I think digital is important too mainly for finding new stuff!
Which are your main influences (Favourite Artists / Bands etc.)
Crackwhöre is mainly influenced by Motörhead, I think all members can agree here. But let’s say that we were routing for a D-Beat Rock n’roll path that we couldn’t find in music as we imagined it. Some Black n’ Roll is in there too.
Which things do you think a band should sacrifice in order to succeed? Have you ever sacrificed anything in your life for a better future for your band?
I personally would sacrifice many things, mainly for playing live and touring. There wouldn’t be anything in the way for me. But the rest of the band has to have the same priorities for things to work out.
Describe your ideal live show as a performance band. Have you already experienced that?
I think there is nothing better than a small underground venue, completely packed with people and total chaos, no stage! We had our own event that was held once a year in a basement, the best shows I’ve ever played.
What attributes do you think that a new Band should have in order to gain identity and be unique?
That’s a very difficult question, first of all I think a strong image, good visuals and aesthetic. Many say Metal shouldn’t be about that but I very much think it’s a main part of the genre. Things should be done with taste and thought.
Do you believe that Digital Platforms help the new Bands? Which, do you think, is the ideal way for a band to promote its work?
I think that things find balance on their own, when there was no digital world it was equally hard to find your following. Now with all the existing platforms you can reach other people over the world but finding big success is equally hard as it once was in my opinion.
Tell us a few things about the New Underground Metal Scene in Austria (Bands, Fanzines, Webzines, Metal Clubs etc.)
Austria has a very strong underground Black Metal scene, many shows and festivals. So many good releases every year.
Do you know anything about the Hellenic Metal Scene?
Greece has many great bands, but I think that you have to go to a country and go to the shows there, and get drunk with the local scene. I always travel far for concerts.
In the last 5 years, worldwide in the world, we have faced many dark, strange, and new situations in our everyday lives (covid, lockdown, etc.). Did all of this affect you positively or negatively?
More time for music!
What are your future plans?
For now we will record more music and try to play some shows. I think we’ll have a lot to work on! ROCK'N'ROLL OR DIE!
Thank you very much for your time & keep up the good work!
