Interview with CRITICAL EXTRAVASATION

!!!TECHNICAL DEATH/THRASH METAL FROM RUSSIA!!!
We had a conversation with Victor (Bass). Enjoy!

Welcome to the FILTHY DOGS OF METAL Webzine.
Tell us a few things about CRITICAL EXTRAVASATION (Members, Starting Year etc).
We’ve started in 2018 from the ruins of my first band Openmindead. I have invited Sergey and some other guys who did not stay for too long in the band. When we started the recording of Morbid Existence Sergey invited Alexander on vocals since they have worked on Skyglow’s album. The drummer on morbid existence was Artyom, he also recorded most of the leads.

In 2019 you have released your EP ''Morbid Existence''. What was the feedback from your audience as well as from the press?
The feedback was pretty decent in my opinion for such a start. There was some good feedback from the press as well.

Label or DIY and why?
I would choose label. Since labels can deliver our music to the right audience straight away.

Do you prefer Vinyl, Tape, CD or Digital Format and why is that?
I love collecting physical format and listen to vinyl or cassettes whenever I can. However, listening to music from my phone is more convenient.

Your music style is Death/Thrash Metal. Which are your main influences (Favourite Artists / Bands etc.)
I would say Aspid, Demolition Hammer, Shah, Morgoth, Timeghoul, Catapultah, KGB and Death of course.

Which things, do you think, a Band should sacrifice in order to succeed? Have you ever sacrificed anything in your life for a better future of your Band?
I don’t really know. Understandings of success vary a lot. In my case I sacrificed a lot of money and nerves for the upcoming Critical Extravasation album.

Describe your ideal live show as a performance Band. Have you already experienced that?
I mean, good sound, decent adequate crowd and reasonably priced beer. A perfect show that I have experienced is either Black Sabbath or Suicidal Tendencies.

Which attributes, do you think, that a new Death/Thrash Metal Band should have in order to gain identity and be unique?
Film photographs, uncommon time signatures, BC Rich guitars, Long Hair, OSDM band t shirts, raw production. Seriously, It’s hard being unique in such a genre so I simply don’t know.

Do you believe that Digital Platforms help the new Death/Thrash Metal Bands? Which, do you think, is the ideal way for a Band to promote its work?
I certainly think yes. Perhaps instagram is a good way to promote a band by using targeting.

Tell us a few things about the New Underground Metal Scene in Russia (Bands, Fanzines, Webzines, Metal Clubs etc.)
There are some really good bands out there. Passeisme, Cist, Wombripper, Morbital, Pyre, Excruciation by silence and so on. There aren’t many venues however. There are two or three zines and that’s pretty much it.

Do you know anything about the Hellenic Metal Scene?
No, never heard of it.

What are your future plans?
Release the god damn album.

Thank you very much for your time & Keep up the good work! The closure is yours.
Support the underground! Buy T shirts, cassettes, Vinyls because it makes us artists feel better. That someone actually needs our art…
