1. Tell us a few things about EVIL WIZARD (Members, Starting Year etc).
Hi friends of FILTHY DOGS OF METAL thanks for interview. Evil Wizard is a Heavy Metal Band from Ecuador located in Riobamba city. Evil Wizard, formed in 2017, with 4 members from different bands, influenced by heavy metal bands such as: Accept, Battleaxe, Fisc, Talon, Vampyr, Chariot, Gravestone, Picture, Tank, Tygers of Pang Tang, Mendes Prey, Praying Mantis and also Spanish Heavy Metal such as: Strefo, Sable, Banzai, Tigres, Bruque, Antídoto, Tritón, Bloque, Asfalto, Topo.
We started composing our first songs and giving our first shows in different parts of the country. Our idea is to remain heavy metal always.
Our lineup is:

David Paca (Bass)
Dario Janeta (Guitar)
Jorge Jimenez (Drums).
2. You have recently released your EP ''Running Wild''. What is the Feedback from your audience as well as from the Press?
For our song "Running Wild" we made a lyrics video in "Telón de Acero" a few weeks ago and people are satisfied with our song.Let us hope that people will continue to listen to our song, not only in our country, but also in other parts of the world and the songs that are in the process of recording hopefully will have the same reception.
3. Label or DIY and why?
Well, Our EP has been recorded independently because we haven't been contacted by any label yet, but it would be a good experience to do so. Unfortunately, we have to finance ourselves, but at the same time we are happy and satisfied to do it for the music.
4. Do you prefer Vinyl, Tape, CD or Digital Format and why is that?
All formats are a good choice, but vinyl and tape have a more real sound that transports you to those years. The CD and digital format are what we currently use. But it would be a good idea to be able to record on vinyl.
5. Your music style is Heavy Metal. Which are your main influences (Favourite Artists / Bands etc.)
The heavy metal bands that have influenced us: Accept, Battleaxe, Fisc, Talon, Vampyr, Chariot, Gravestone, Picture, Tank, Tygers of Pang Tang, Mendes Prey, Praying Mantis and also Spanish Heavy Metal such as: Strefo, Sable, Banzai, Tigres, Bruque, Antídoto, Tritón, Bloque, Asfalto, Topo.
6. Which things, do you think, a Band should sacrifice in order to succeed? Have you ever sacrificed anything in your life for a better future of your Band?
We have sacrificed money because, as we have already said, we manage independently and also time because sometimes work, studies and family have to be sacrificed. We have done everything with pleasure for the music.
7. Describe your ideal live show as a performance Band. Have you already experienced that?
In each show we learn how to continue improving our performance to achieve our ideal show.
8. Which attributes, do you think, that a new Heavy Metal Band should have in order to gain identity and be unique?
A Heavy Metal band must be clear about its influences and its sound, dedicate itself to improving its instrument and transmitting energy in each show. All the bands are unique.
9. Do you believe that Bandcamp and other Digital Platforms help the new Heavy Metal Bands? Which, do you think, is the ideal way for a Band to promote its work?
Digital platforms are a great help because through these platforms our music can reach many parts of the world. A clear example are you (hahaha).
10. Tell us a few things about the New Underground Metal Scene in Ecuador (Bands, Fanzines, Webzines, Metal Clubs etc.)
The music scene in Ecuador is growing because many bands have a good talent and are continuously improving.We can mention bands such as: Almetal, Soul Steel, Extirpator, Avathar and other bands.
11. Do you know anything about the Hellenic Metal Scene?
Oh yeah, bands such as: Vavel, Northwind, Vice Human, Spitfire, Konan, Thanatos Inc.
12. What are your future plans?
Our plans for the future are to record our first full album, continue to play in shows all over the country and because not outside the country. Also, we will keep writing more songs in the same style.
