We had a conversation with Gilberto “Pollo" Loría (Bass/Vocals). Enjoy!

Tell us a few things about EXECUTOR (Members, Starting Year etc).
Executor was created in late November 2007. The founder members was Jorge Méndez (drums), Greivin Méndez (Guitar)and Gilberto Loría (myself, bass and vocals). In 2012 the first demo came out named “Bloody six", three years later second album was made as an EP “Enjoy the Massacre”, with this one the band begins to work in a serious professional way. Is in 2020 this mentality works out with the album “God will kneel before me”. Nowadays Executor members are: Gilberto Loría – bass and vocals Fabián Vargas – Guitar and backing vocals (4 years in the band) Alejandro Cubero – Guitar (six months in the band) Juan Fernández – Drums (six years in the band)
In 2020 you have released your album ''God Will Kneel Before Me''. What was the Feedback from your audience as well as from the Press?
The feedback from the audience was very good, they said a lot of positive things about, the press well… Here in Costa Rica there is no such a thing, there are a couple of serious blogs about metal and they made positive notes about our album, one of them call it “one of the best albums released on 2020 in Costa Rica”.
Label or DIY and why?
Well, both has good’s and bad's, but the labels must of the time guarantee more worldwide audience.
Do you prefer Vinyl, Tape, CD or Digital Format and why is that?
By the times we are living in (unfortunately maybe) the digital format, because gives more access to parts of the world that are not easy to reach.
Your music style is Thrash Metal. Which are your main influences (Favourite Artists / Bands etc.)
Yeah, the band has many influences, from classic rock to black metal, but the main I should say is Slayer.
Which things, do you think, a Band should sacrifice in order to succeed? Have you ever sacrificed anything in your life for a better future of your Band?
Succeed is itself a kind of synonym for sacrifice, anybody who wants this life style must know that there are things you have let aside. I certainly I do many sacrifices, my marriage for example.
Describe your ideal live show as a performance Band. Have you already experienced that?
Perfect sound, organization and a killer crowd, in other words… Wacken open air. By now only the killer crowd.
Which attributes, do you think, that a new Thrash Metal Band should have in order to gain identity and be unique?
Humbleness, know your place and work hard.
Do you believe that Bandcamp and other Digital Platforms help the new Thrash Metal Bands? Which, do you think, is the ideal way for a Band to promote its work?
Of course I do, but not all of them, Spotify sucks, they doesn't really give the artists a real compensation (money) for their work.
Tell us a few things about the New Underground Metal Scene in Costa Rica (Bands, Fanzines, Webzines, Metal Clubs etc.)
Well the scene is dying very hard, the pandemic has affected too much, few bands are working things like it should be, all with different styles of thrash which gives a very good variety. We have no fanzines only a couple of blogs. Government here don't give a shit about art, so is very difficult for any metal band.
Do you know anything about the Hellenic Metal Scene?
Honestly I don't have many references, but I love Suicidal angels, those guys are amazing.
What are your future plans?
Right now we are working in new material, we have ready almost 4 songs for the new album which we hope to release in 2022, we are working for a good opportunity to play in Europe.
