Interview with FEEDING UPON
Welcome to the FILTHY DOGS OF METAL Webzine.
Tell us a few things about FEEDING UPON (Members, Starting Year etc).
Feeding Upon started in 2020 and there are only two members, Christian and Fredrik.We do everything ourselves, makes the producing etc so much more simple.
You have recently released your EP ''Sleeping Above Dead Giants''. What is the Feedback from your audience as well as from the Press?
The EP was just released a few days ago , so not much response has come yet. But the feedback which we've got have been really great.
Label or DIY and why?
DIY, no apparent reason. We have full control of our own music and we can do as we please.Musical freedom and creativity.
Do you prefer Vinyl, Tape, CD or Digital Format and why is that?
We like all formats, its always nice with something physical. Sadly where we are at the moment ita not viable to do physical releases.
Your music style is Thrash/Death Metal. Which are your main influences (Favourite Artists / Bands etc.)
We enjoy everything from Carcass to Cannibal Corpse to Exodus and of course these are some bands we are influenced by.
Which things, do you think, a Band should sacrifice in order to succeed? Have you ever sacrificed anything in your life for a better future of your Band?
Do you need to sacrifice something to be successful? Don't think so, and no we haven't. We just write music we want to play and if its successful and not is really up to the people and not us.
Describe your ideal live show as a performance Band. Have you already experienced that?
We aren't really a live band, so can't answer that. but who knows what the future holds?
Which attributes, do you think, that a new Thrash/Death Metal Band should have in order to gain identity and be unique?
A good metal band, despite the genre it plays, should have a personal sound and style, taking the best from their influence and create something new from it.
Do you believe that Bandcamp and other Digital Platforms help the new Thrash/Death Metal Bands? Which, do you think, is the ideal way for a Band to promote its work?
We think that in 2020, every platform is crucial for promoting your music. Bandcamp does a great job but also Instagram and Spotify have their power to spread your music around.
Tell us a few things about the New Underground Metal Scene in Italy (Bands, Fanzines, Webzines, Metal Clubs etc.)
Underground metal scene in Italy is always full of surprises and great bands, despite the momentary live music stop i always see new cool releases, and i can say the same for Sweden ( Fredrik's home country ).
Do you know anything about the Hellenic Metal Scene?
Sure and one of our favourite Greek band is obviously Rotting Christ, other cool bands we like are Necromantia and Septicflesh.
What are your future plans?
We are already working on a full album after our first EP ''Sleeping Above Dead Giants''. In this next release you will hear all the other influence of the band, from Black Metal to more complex styles, we'll mix them with what you already heard on our first work.
