Tell us a few things about FUNERAL (Members, Starting Year etc).
FUNERAL staring in 2017 like a one man project, due to the need to spread the plague to more ears, I decided to get members to form a band that could play live (including my brother). We have had several changes in the lineup, because the issues between the band are always presents, "things of life". All release have different line up, and now, post "Llamada Funebre" we have another one what we hope it stays.

In 2022 you released your album ''Llamada fúnebre''. What was the feedback from your audience as well as from the press?
The feedback was poor, I blame us for trusting with the labels that released it, only in part, the first one, "Burning Coffin" don't do the necessary publicity and did not make the agreed upon number of copies, the second one "Thou Shalt Suffer" (which we are eternally grateful for by the way) promised us more than one format to release and because of this, we don't look for more labels, the deal was excellent, but later they notice that it exceeded the budget and Llamada Funebre was release only in cassette format. Since 2024, where it be release in CD/DVD by a co-production of a label "Repmparts Productions" and a magazine "Acid Vicious" in France.

Label or DIY and why?
Label. It is the best way to spread death to unknown ears.

Is there any funny or weird story from the recordings or from your live shows that you would like to share with us?
Weird stories are a lot; the recording of the vocals usually are in rare places, our last album (not ready yet) was recording in an old and deteriorated abandoned hut several kilometers from civilization, the vocals of Llamada Funebre was recording in a cave into the forest, also in live presentations were fights, punches and kicks from us to the people who listen our music.

Do you prefer Vinyl, Tape, CD or Digital Format and why is that?
My top would be in that same order, i prefer the classic forms and the most and that the sound conversion is the most reliable to the real. I hate the digital format, but in this times it is crucial to spread the black shit. We cannot agree with everything, after all, thanks to this our music exists.

Your music style is Black Metal. Which are your main influences (Favourite Artists / Bands etc.)
Of course the classic bands; Burzum, Mayhem, Darkthrone, Bathory, also bands of another styles; Morbid Angel, Possessed, Sodom, among the best known. there is no need to leave behind either local bands from our area or another area of our country or South America, you can even notice influences from bands other than the metal genre, such as punk or even national folklore. This is something that i couldn't feel pride, i don't like to attribute our originality at a copy of something that someone already did, in exception of the influences of video games, movies and of course our self feelings and thoughts, we must not leave aside that this is what influences us the most to make our music.

Which things do you think a band should sacrifice in order to succeed? Have you ever sacrificed anything in your life for a better future for your band?
I thing it depends on how important their own band is to each person, i mean how much priority it will in the life of someone. We, as a band, of course have made many sacrifices, from monetary investments without any profit, to distancing and cut close friendships for the sake of the band being better and lasting.

Describe your ideal live show as a performance band. Have you already experienced that?
We believe that it could be a little childish and too optimistic to have an ideal show, but there are certain things that could help us a lot to emerge, like having the opportunity to play abroad and on other continents, you could say that that would be our ideal, apart from that, all our shows are performed as if they were the most important show we have been to, because what we do is something real, they are our feelings and we feel them even if there is no public that sees us.

What attributes do you think that a new Black Metal Band should have in order to gain identity and be unique?
I think that someone who seeks to gain identity and be unique within the metal scene is not someone who truly feels what they do and should dedicate themselves to other hobbies such as uploading videos to Tik Tok, this is not about being different from the rest or appearing. if you really are a weardo, you don't need to do anything to prove it.

Do you believe that Digital Platforms help the new Black Metal Bands? Which, do you think, is the ideal way for a band to promote its work?
Yes, it works, perhaps more than what I would consider ideal, since over time it has moved away from traditional formats, which is partly good because they are more exclusive for those of us who consume this type of music, anyway there is always a bad side, Nowadays any asshole picks up a guitar, makes a drum kit on the computer and with a few shouts brags that he makes black metal, there are millions of posers who stole the opportunity to bands that they are really worth it

Do you see any differences between the Chilean Metal Market & the EU Metal Market (Labels, Bands, Fans etc)?
I can only say that in Chile local bands are not supported, only those that emerge that are friends or cocksuckers of the production companies, that really makes me sick and terrifies me at the idea that several bands that are really good are lost only in one live record on YouTube of only a few hundred views, on the other hand you can also see the good side of not supporting bands with closed eyes, the idea that there is a need to support local bands just because they are about the area you live in is really disgusting, you just want to pretend and not really feel what you are listening to, this helps in the case that bad bands are helped to emerge and that it is not even worth listening to them. In any case, it is sad to think that in Chile it is more difficult to emerge and be able to have presentations abroad due to the poor musical culture of the area.

Tell us a few things about the New Underground Metal Scene in Chile (Bands, Fanzines, Webzines, Metal Clubs etc.)
Full of idiots like everywhere, what is worth saving is that there is no shortage of scene, in every corner of Chile there is an extreme metal band (is this a good thing?), it is good in the sense that it is not so difficult to find bands that are worth listening to. Fanzines and webzines are not so much due to the little interest among the public, even so I know a few. I consider metal clubs to be of the same ilk where I position labels and production companies.

Do you know anything about the Hellenic Metal Scene?
Yes, a lot of good bands, of course Rotting Christ or Necromantia, also new bands like Macabre Omen, Hellenic scene is a very important pillar in all the history of the extreme metal in the entire World.

What are your future plans?
Our future plans are just never stop to spread the rot to the foreign souls, never stop playing and release more albums as the one that is now in recording process.
