Interview with GOATROCITY

!!!BLACKENED SPEED METAL FROM ROMANIA!!!

Welcome to the FILTHY DOGS OF METAL Webzine.

Tell us a few things about GOATROCITY (Members, Starting Year etc).
Greetings from the Great Transylvania! We are Goatrocity fuck your society! The band started in the summer of 2020 with Baphomaniac and Speedhammer. Over the course of 4 years the lineup of the band suffered different changes, with new members coming and going, until the current line up which is: Baphomaniac - Bass & Vocals, Speedhammer - Drums, Härdrocker - Guitar.

You have recently released your EP ''Atrocity Of God''. What is the feedback from your audience as well as from the press?
I can say that the feedback from the audience was good. We recently signed with Psychosounds Music label from our country. We did so because we know, trust and are friends with them.

Label or DIY and why?
Label. We all prefer being signed to a label, because of the merchandise, physical media and all.

Is there any funny or weird story from the recordings or from your live shows that you would like to share with us?
During the recording of our EP, our drummer arrived hungover as fuck during a night out drinking to the recording session and started laughing like crazy sounding like a golf 4 with engine problems.

Do you prefer Vinyl, Tape, CD or Digital Format and why is that?
Baphomaniac: I prefer Vinyls and Tapes because in my opinion the sound is better than the CDs or digital media.
Speedhammer: I prefer Vinyls, Tapes and CDs because there are people who like those and are maniacs with this.
Härdrocker: As for collecting releases, i prefer Vinyls because of their size but for listening i like tapes more.

Your music style is Black/Thrash Metal. Which are your main influences (Favourite Artists / Bands etc.)
Our influences are Baphomet's Blood, Terrörhammer, Antichrist, Deathhammer, Butcher, Hellripper, Midnight, Exodus, Witchtrap, Exciter, Sodom, Evil Invaders etc.

Which things do you think a band should sacrifice in order to succeed? Have you ever sacrificed anything in your life for a better future for your band?
We think you need to sacrifice your free time to succeed in music. We've also had to kick out past members who did not match our style of music and who didn't fit in. Another example of a sacrifice, would be our drummer who even after breaking his leg, still found a way to play at our upcoming show.

Describe your ideal live show as a performance band. Have you already experienced that?
Our ideal show would be sharing the stage with one of our favorite bands and playing while an old school chaotic brawl is happening, with people moshing to death, stage diving and everyone being drunk while chaos ensues.

What attributes do you think that a new Black/Thrash Metal Band should have in order to gain identity and be unique?
I think being unique is not 100% necessary, but being good at something that already exists and keeping the underground alive is what's important.

Do you believe that Digital Platforms help the new Black/Thrash Metal Bands? Which, do you think, is the ideal way for a band to promote its work?
Yes, the more platforms you upload your music on, the more recognition you get.

Tell us a few things about the New Underground Metal Scene in Romania (Bands, Fanzines, Webzines, Metal Clubs etc.)
We have some pretty good bands in the Romanian underground scene such as Slicer, Leather Brigade, Crumble, Crossbone, Psychiatry, Ruyned, Vampir Bei Kerzenlicht, Mortuary Dripping to name a few. We also have some underground clubs like Metal Bunker, I-auzi Una, Underworld, Fabrica, Flying Circus, and more.

Do you know anything about the Hellenic Metal Scene?
Yes, we love Necrochakal, Slaughtered Priest, Suicidal Angels, and some other great bands like Bio-Cancer whose vocalist Lefteris is friends with Baphomaniac, and Omega's drummer is with ours. The black metal scene is also very strong.

The last 4 years, worldwide in the world, we have faced many dark, strange & new situations in our everyday life (covid, lock-down etc.) Did all of this affect you positively or negatively?
To be honest, absolutely not. We played gigs, did rehearsals and we made music.

What are your future plans?
Our future plans would consist of playing concerts in other countries, such as Czech Republic's Obscene Extreme Fest, and recording a full length album.

Thank you very much for your time & keep up the good work! The closure is yours.
Thank you for choosing us for the interview, keep metal alive and keep crushing the heads of the posers!
