Welcome to the FILTHY DOGS OF METAL Webzine.
Tell us a few things about HELHEST (Members, Starting Year etc).
We formed the band in December 2018 to play some covers. We had the idea about reachin’ a dirty sound band about 8 years ago, but we got it until then. Now the band is formed by Mantor (Guitar) , Coatl (drums/vocals) and Radamantis (bass). This is not the first line-up.
You have recently released your EP ''Venganza y fuego''. What is the feedback from your audience as well as from the press?
There are lots of maniacs on the way, they’re researching for evil and aggressive music. We have received some messages from other countries asking about our stuff. We believe they like our noise.
Label or DIY and why?
Actually we aren’t signed by any label. We’re making it by ourselves and won’t let that it stop us, but we are opened to make alliances and conspire with any slave of this damned vice interested on takin’ this as far as possible.
Do you prefer Vinyl, Tape, CD or Digital Format and why is that?
Any format it’s Ok , but we prefer any kind of physical format: CD,TAPE,VINYL… it’s the same. JUST UP THE FUCKIN’ VOLUME!!!
Your music style is Black/Speed Metal. Which are your main influences (Favourite Artists / Bands etc.)
To making a list of our favorite bands it’s so hard, ‘cause we listen lots of styles. Heavy metal, black metal, death metal, thrash metal, whatever over the line… its not abut the style, it’s about aggression and attitude.
Which things, do you think, a Band should sacrifice in order to succeed? Have you ever sacrificed anything in your life for a better future of your Band?
We believe there’s no sacrifice on this, only passion. But we’re on this to sacrifice some God’s sons.
Describe your ideal live show as a performance Band. Have you already experienced that?
Queremos ver a la gente destruir el lugar , en cada show , una y troa vez …. We just want to see people destroying every place, every show, again and again…
Which attributes, do you think, that a new Black/Speed Metal Band should have in order to gain identity and be unique?
Never losin’ the enemy of sight.
Do you believe that Digital Platforms help the new Black/Speed Metal Bands? Which, do you think, is the ideal way for a Band to promote its work?
You have a digital platform, you have a better answer than us…
Tell us a few things about the New Underground Metal Scene in Mexico (Bands, Fanzines, Webzines, Metal Clubs etc.)
There are many Mexican bands on the scene, they sure will blow your head, they’re showing their power at the stage. They’re digging up the classic sounds and killing a lot of the new and current sounds. There are some new (and popular) festivals bringing bands from the entire world, shows we only dreamed before. Many labels and fanzines rised up the last years, graphic artists and Youtubers. The social webs became an easy way for may people to share their bands and their experiences in an effective way. You must turn your sight on this side of the world, because there are many crazy guys looking for troubles.
Do you know anything about the Hellenic Metal Scene?
Yes, we listen a lot of Greek bands, you have many great heavy and black metal bands. We are fans of your music, but we want to live it by ourselves, in own flesh.
What are your future plans?
Keep annoying people and keep on business until death take us.
