Tell us a few things about IRON BONES (Members, Starting Year etc).
Hi! Iron Bones started the year 2018, all compositions by DBONER, the members was: dboner-guitars and vocals, ironer-bass and viking-drums, after a couple of years ironer left the band and enter morbozo on bass, right now iron bones are dboner-guitars and vocals and maniac-drums, soon we are going to release a 2023 demo-ep with a few new tracks, only expect hateful speed rock and roll!
You have recently released your album ''Till the Hammer...''. What was the feedback from your audience as well as from the press?
Very good feedback, more rapid songs than before, good sound (directly from the formats CD, cassette and vinyl of course) on Youtube doesn't have a good quality, the trades and selling was very good.The álbum was released on cassette, CD and vinyl, and have 2 re-editions on cassette, check it out on metal-archives.
Label or DIY and why?
Both, it depends on what are you releasing, but generally we work with labels.
Do you prefer Vinyl, Tape, CD or Digital Format and why is that?
Personally I prefer vinyl, the sound are great, the designs have better canvas and size, and have some old school vibe.
Your music style is Heavy/Speed Metal. Which are your main influences (Favourite Artists / Bands etc.)
I don't like to categorize our music,i only put some style because the bangers, labels etc need it, I don't know why. We have on our music all kinds of styles, metal, speed, heavy, punk, hardcore punk, thrash etc. I don't limit myself when I compose a song. About the influences just to name a few are, Carnivore, Type-o-Negative (first album), Motorhead, Minor threat, Cro-Mags, Judas Priest, Agnostic Front (first albums), Venom, Danzig etc.
Which things do you think a band should sacrifice in order to succeed? Have you ever sacrificed anything in your life for a better future for your band?
Hahaha good question, I think that been on this music are more like a lifestyle than a “hobby” Sometimes you sacrifice some time with your family for the rehearsals, and some discussions with my girlfriend haha, but nothing really important, like I said is a lifestyle, so you don't need to sacrifice something because is what you like and feel passion about it.
Describe your ideal live show as a performance band. Have you already experienced that?
Yeah, we played in some gigs that the people went crazy as fuck, a lot of mosh, and headbanging, generally the music of iron bones fire up the gigs, the bangers and punks start to forget the shitty things in life and enjoy the discharge of our stuff. About a ideal live show, i can comment a non ideal live show, it would be that the people were all standing like a plant.
What attributes do you think that a new Heavy/Speed Metal Band should have in order to gain identity and be unique?
Just be yourself.
Do you believe that Digital Platforms help the new Heavy/Speed Metal Bands? Which, do you think, is the ideal way for a band to promote its work?
In this days, the physical formats of music are as always the better way to share your music, and the digital platforms take off the mystic of that and compete. Nowadays, if you don't have something on internet is like you almost don't exist, we have to face reality and is what it is, so we want that new people know the band, besides who get the physical stuff, so, we have social media too.
Do you see any differences between the Chilean Metal Market & the EU Metal Market (Labels, Bands, Fans etc)?
The bands here have nothing to envy the foreign/outside bands, about the “market” there is a big difference, they have more money, and that's it, about the fans, here are the most devoted, crazy and fanatic fans of metal/punk and almost for any kind of music, you can check it out with official live albums from bands like Iron Maiden and Anthrax.
Do you know anything about the Hellenic Metal Scene?
Yeah! Here in Chile are many devoted fans of the Hellenic Black Metal bands, I don't know details but I hear that a lot, I think that Greece its a country whit a long way back culture very advance stuffs for that ages, I assume that the bands there have the same energy of the traditions and culture, ready for war stuffs.
The last 3 years, worldwide in the world, we have faced many dark, strange & new situations in our everyday life (covid, lock-down etc.) Did all of this affect you positively or negatively?
Both, positively because covid and lockdowns gave you the chance to know better yourself, and feel the really important things in life, not the crappy shits that the people like for take a distance of itself and evade yourself and your thoughts. Negatively because was PURE SHIT.
What are your future plans?
The future plans are keep the compositions and record this year or early 2024 a new EP or LP the new songs have more speed stuff and aggression. Soon we are going to release a demo-EP with a couple of new songs, with the new drummer MANIAC. We would like some gigs outside Chile too, but its a future plan.
