Interview with KILLING

We had a conversation with Rasmus Soelberg (Vocals/ Bass). Enjoy!
Welcome to the FILTHY DOGS OF METAL Webzine.
Tell us a few things about KILLING (Members, Starting Year etc).
We started back in late 2013 with a rehearsal, we didn't know that we were gonna be so serious and get as far as Killing have come. It started with me (Rasmus Soelberg) asking the other guys if they were ready to play some thrash metal with me. It took some time to get them convinced, but finally i got lucky and they all agreed.
You have recently released your album ''Face the Madness''. What is the feedback from your audience as well as from the press?
We have gotten really good feedback from both our fans and the medias. Almost every review is really positive and much better then we dared to hope.
Label or DIY and why?
There are ups and downs on both Labels and DIY. We have gotten really far with DIY, we have booked our own shows, recorded,mixed and mastered Toxic Asylum and Raise Your Anger on our own. When the chance was there for us to get signed, we took it to go that extra mile and see what Killing can do with a label behind us.
Do you prefer Vinyl, Tape, CD or Digital Format and why is that?
I personally (Rasmus Soelberg) love Vinyls, but i also like MC and CD´s. I also like to listen to things on Spotify and Youtube. I love vinyls because of the sound and i like to sit and look in that big cover.
Your music style is Thrash Metal. Which are your main influences (Favourite Artists / Bands etc.)
We have all listened a lot to Slayer, Kreator, Megadeth, Metallica, Annihilator and so on, so we are classic trained in thrash metal.
Which things, do you think, a Band should sacrifice in order to succeed? Have you ever sacrificed anything in your life for a better future of your Band?
I only think a band should sacrifice what they want to sacrifice.You use a lot of time on creating music, planning things, driving to venues, driving back home, packing out gear and so on so its important to us, that we have time for our friends and family.I have sacrificed a lot of candy and cream potatoes with the wife during our time in killing.
Describe your ideal live show as a performance Band. Have you already experienced that?
We have had so many crazy live shows, and we really love hit the stages. I have always wanted to play on one of the big festivals in the summer times, that would be my ideal show.
Which attributes, do you think, that a new Thrash Metal Band should have in order to gain identity and be unique?
I think a thrash band should focus on creating good music that people want to hear, by doing that way you are always unique, no matter what genre you play.
Do you believe that Digital Platforms help the new Thrash Metal Bands? Which, do you think, is the ideal way for a Band to promote its work?
Indeed, it really helps. I find a lot of new band on Youtube and in the New Wave Of Thrash Metal group on Facebook. It's so easy to send an song to the other end of the world. Fantastic.
Tell us a few things about the New Underground Metal Scene in Denmark (Bands, Fanzines, Webzines, Metal Clubs etc.)
We have so many things going on in Denmark, we have Tornvang Open Air, Heavy Agger, Metal Magic, Copenhell and i could go on and on and on. You should check out some other danish thrash bands like: Demolizer, Persecutor, Lipid and Avarice.
Do you know anything about the Hellenic Metal Scene?
I don't really that much about Hellenic bands yet, but i have to check them out now.
What are your future plans?
So how far we can take killing and have so much fun as possible doing it. Also its important to create more music, that's the main reason we got started. Maybe take a big tour around the world?
