Interview with KRAISER

!!!BLACK THRASH METAL FROM COLOMBIA!!!

We had a conversation with Alan Kraiser. Enjoy!

Welcome to the FILTHY DOGS OF METAL Webzine.

Tell us a few things about KRAISER (Members, Starting Year etc).
Thank you very much for the interview, it is an honor. I, Alan Kraiser, founded the band in 2019 in Cali, Colombia. We started doing covers of Black Sabbath, Diamond Head, and Ángeles del Infierno. After that, we started working on finding our sound and trying to sound more raw and aggressive... Starting to play anywhere that gave us the space until I met  several musicians who over time, contributed good techniques to the band until we got to where we are today. Currently we have Jack White on bass and I doing vocals, guitars and drums.

You have recently released your album ''Kraiser''. What is the feedback from your audience as well as from the press?
A couple of weeks ago we shared on our Youtube channel two Singles that are part of the album. "Infernal Vengeance" and "Más allá del umbral". It was very well received since our followers They noticed the change in sound, we came from playing Thrash Metal to a very dark and aggressive Black Thrash Metal and Black M
etal.

Label or DIY and why?
Well, currently our album was produced by Edgar Kerval from the band EMME YA, he helped us with the recording, digital production and the album cover. And we are looking for a label to  publish it in physical form.

Is there any funny or weird story from the recordings or from your live shows that you would like to share with us?
Wow, what can I say haha... The last time Kraiser played live was in Cali Colombia 3 years ago... I was the vocalist and bassist. And a week before I fractured my right hand and I couldn't play and I couldn't play bass at the concert. It was a bit demotivating but it was a great show.

Do you prefer Vinyl, Tape, CD or Digital Format and why is that?
I collect all formats! And now I'm moving through digital media to promote my work while it's being released in physical form.

Your music style is Black/Thrash Metal. Which are your main influences (Favourite Artists / Bands etc.)
I love old thrash, Celtic Frost... Darkthrone, Nifelheim, Nocturnal Breed, Aura Noir... Inquisition from Cali Colombia of course lml

Which things do you think a band should sacrifice in order to succeed? Have you ever sacrificed anything in your life for a better future for your band?
The truth is yes, because in the beginnings of the band... Many times I didn't even have enough for the rehearsal or the bus fare to get to the place... It was either one thing or the other. As long as there is heart  and passion, everything can be achieved.

Describe your ideal live show as a performance band. Have you already experienced that?
I don't care where it is, just that it has good sound and that people enjoy the show!! Hail to Metal Black .

What attributes do you think that a new Black/Thrash Metal Band should have in order to gain identity and be unique?
Earning respect and admiration from everyone simply with your work... Music and dedication. That's what matters!

Do you believe that Digital Platforms help the new Black/Thrash Metal Bands? Which, do you think, is the ideal way for a band to promote its work?
Well, I'm from the generation of 2000 onwards, it helps... Although I'm one of those fans who buys merchandise and music and that's awesome! But the digital medium moves too much.

Do you see any differences between the Colombian Metal Market & the EU Metal Market (Labels, Bands, Fans etc)?
The Colombian scene has made great progress in terms of festivals and shows by international bands and that's great. But the European scene is always on another level, I think I am even more humble and very human in terms of music... There is no egocentrism at all.

Tell us a few things about the New Underground Metal Scene in Colombia (Bands, Fanzines, Webzines, Metal Clubs etc.)
Brutal, there are bands that you really should listen to! There's Panzer Terror, Tache, Beer Drinkers, PECADO, Sobibor which is a great band from Bogotá, EMME YA which is a very brutal Black Ambient music.

Do you know anything about the Hellenic Metal Scene?
Very brutal, I really like Thou Art Lord... And Acherontas which is a very dark Black Metal.

In the last 4 years, worldwide in the world, we have faced many dark, strange, and new situations in our everyday lives (covid, lockdown, etc.). Did all of this affect you positively or negatively?
It helped me a lot to think about what to do with my band... And in fact, in 2020 we made our debut on stage at the "Cultura Al Parque" festival. It was virtual but it was great.

What are your future plans?
Our future plans... We hope to release the album in physical form as soon as possible, we also have t-shirts available if you want to buy. And continue recording music and leaving our name well located!

Thank you very much for your time & keep up the good work! The closure is yours.
Thank you very much for contacting us, I was able to speak with you in a previous interview when I published the EP of my solo project Steel Attack. Now with Kraiser, who has always been my priority musically. We hope you like our album as much as we do. Hail to Metal Black...
