Cuéntanos algunas cosas sobre magmount (miembros, año de inicio)
Magmount nace en el año 2019 con el encuentro entre el guitarrista BLAZE y el baterista BLACKMOUNT, donde se experimentan sonidos hasta encontrar la definición del estilo musical, acompañado de vivencias en diferentes escenarios geográficos, específicamente en las montañas andinas colombianas, con el fin de buscar una trascendencia, una transformación del ser. A esta alineación se une DATURA en los bajos y así queda consolidada la agrupación.

Tell us a few things about Magmount (members, start year).
Magmount was born in 2019 with the meeting between the guitarist BLAZE and the drummer BLACKMOUNT, where sounds are experienced until the definition of the musical style is found, accompanied by experiences in different geographical settings, specifically in the Colombian Andean mountains, in order to search for a transcendence, a transformation of being. DATURA joins this line-up on the basses and thus the group is consolidated.

Has lanzado recientemente tu ep "Más allá del ser". ¿Cuáles son los comentarios de su audiencia y de la prensa?
El EP ha gustado mucho en el público. La gente se siente identificada con nuestras letras y con la intención ideológica de la banda, por lo que generamos una conexión fuerte con la audiencia, estamos muy contentos por ello. ha sido una experiencia grata para nosotros la aceptación de este trabajo, no solo en Colombia, si no en algunos países de Suramérica donde se ha difundido.

You have recently released your EP "Más allá del ser". What was the feedback from your audience as well as from the press?
The EP has been very popular with the public. People feel identified with our lyrics and with the ideological intention of the band, so we generate a strong connection with the audience, we are very happy about it. The acceptance of this work has been a pleasant experience for us, not only in Colombia, but also in some South American countries where it has been disseminated.

Etiqueta o bricolaje y por qué
En este momento manejamos sello independiente, pensamos en que era lo más conveniente mientras se realizaban algunos ajustes en cuestión de música, temáticas, etc. el comienzo siempre es difícil pero una vez ya identificado nuestro sonido y nuestra intención estamos dispuestos a trabajar con algún sello que guste de nuestro trabajo, por lo que quien quiera escribirnos para dicha labor, nos pueden contactar en los diferentes canales de comunicación (Facebook, Instagram, o número local, etc.). Siempre decimos que son más las ganas de tocar que cualquier otra intención.

Label or DIY and why?
At this time we manage an independent label, we thought that it was the most convenient while some adjustments were made in terms of music, themes, etc. The beginning is always difficult, but once we have identified our sound and our intention, we are willing to work with a label that likes our work, so whoever wants to write to us for said work can contact us through the different communication channels (Facebook, Instagram, or local number, etc.). We always say that the desire to play is more than any other intention

¿Prefiere vinilo, cinta, CD o formato digital y por qué?
Pensamos que es mucho más versátil aquí en Suramérica el uso de CD, pero en realidad coleccionamos mucho los 3 tipos de formatos, esto facilita la distribución del material de las bandas y el público apoya mucho adquiriendo los productos.

Do you prefer vinyl, tape, CD or digital format and why?
We think that the use of CDs is much more versatile here in South America, but in reality we collect a lot of the 3 types of formats, this facilitates the distribution of the material of the bands and the public supports a lot by acquiring the products.

Tu estilo musical es Black/Thrash metal. cuáles son tus principales influencias (artistas, bandas favoritas).
la banda no encasilla su estilo principalmente a este género, puesto que recogemos influencias de varias corrientes y así mismo queremos plasmarlo en nuestras canciones, siendo fuertes bandas como Sad de Grecia, en realidad admiramos mucho el trabajo de Ungod en el metal, también Nargaroth, Death, Destruction, Judas Priest, Inquisition, en fin. Gustamos mucho del metal mundial y más que músicos, nos consideramos fans del metal.

Your musical style is Black/Thrash metal. what are your main influences (artists, favorite bands)? 
The band does not focus its style mainly on this genre, since we collect influences from various currents and likewise we want to capture it in our songs, being strong bands like Sad from Greece, we actually admire Ungod's work in metal, too Nargaroth, Death, Destruction, Judas Priest, Inquisition, anyway. We really like world metal and more than musicians, we consider ourselves metal fans.

¿Qué cosas crees que una banda debería sacrificar para tener éxito? ¿Alguna vez has sacrificado algo en tu vida por un futuro mejor para tus bandas?
Nosotros pensamos que para alcanzar un objetivo es necesario hacer un sacrificio, por ejemplo, no es posible compartir mucho tiempo con los seres queridos, el trabajo permanente por la construcción y difusión el material también hace que dejemos a un lado gustos personales, pero también creo que Magmount merece la dedicación necesaria para hacer las cosas de la mejor manera y poder construir un futuro en torno a ella.

English:
What things do you think a band should sacrifice to be successful? Have you ever sacrificed something in your life for a better future for your bands?
We think that to achieve an objective it is necessary to make a sacrifice, for example, it is not possible to spend a lot of time with loved ones, the permanent work for the construction and diffusion of the material also makes us put aside personal tastes, but I also believe that Magmount deserves the necessary dedication to do things in the best way and to be able to build a future around it.

Describa su espectáculo en vivo ideal como una banda de presentación. ¿Ya has experimentado eso?
Hemos tenido varios shows más que todo en la capital Bogotá, donde hemos ganado el reconocimiento del público, gestores de eventos, prensa y demás. Intentamos siempre acercar a la gente a que se involucren en una buena experiencia, que expulsen su dolor, su sufrimiento y se alejen de la rutina a lo largo del concierto, para que puedan salir renovados y de esta manera puedan acercarse más a los paisajes maravillosos que tiene Colombia, para que puedan valorar el lugar donde viven y comprendan el poder sanador de la naturaleza.

English:
Describe your ideal live show such as a fronting band. Have you already experienced that?
We have offered several shows in the capital Bogotá, where we have gained recognition from the public, event managers, the press and others. We always try to get people involved in a good experience, to expel their pain, their suffering and get away from the routine throughout the concert, so that they can leave renewed and in this way they can get closer to the wonderful landscapes that Colombia has, so that they can value the place where they live and understand the healing power of nature.

¿Qué atributos crees que debería tener una nueva banda de Black/Thrash metal para ganar identidad y ser única?
Consideramos que la unión de estos géneros no se puede quedar solamente con hablar de satanismo, anticristianismo, o solamente hablar de alcohol o temas de los que se han venido hablando desde los 80´s, sino que debe trascender a una experiencia personal llevada a la razón y asi pueda la gente direccionar sus vidas de acuerdo al camino que les gusta, pues tanto el black como el thrash metal son manifestaciones claras del concepto de libertad y su constante búsqueda.

What attributes do you think a new Black/Thrash metal band should have to gain identity and be unique?
We believe that the union of these genres cannot be limited to just talking about Satanism, anti-Christianity, or just talking about alcohol or topics that have been talked about since the 80's, but must transcend a personal experience carried to reason and so people can direct their lives according to the path they like, because both black and thrash metal are clear manifestations of the concept of freedom and its constant search.

¿Crees que las plataformas digitales ayudan a las nuevas bandas de Black/Thrash? ¿Cuál crees que es la forma ideal para que una banda promueva su trabajo?
Las plataformas digitales se mueven bastante en estos tiempos, gracias a ellas hemos tenido acceso a muchas bandas alrededor del mundo, donde tal vez su material es difícil que llegue a estas tierras, sin embargo, creemos que debe ser un canal de comunicación entre el fan y las bandas, pero a través de ellas conocer y adquirir su trabajo, como mencionaba anteriormente, nos gusta conservar el material físico de nuestras bandas favoritas.

English:
Do you think that digital platforms help new Black/Thrash bands? What do you think is the ideal way for a band to promote their work?
Digital platforms move a lot these days, thanks to them we have had access to many bands around the world, where perhaps their material is difficult for it to reach these lands, however, we believe that it should be a channel of communication between the fan and the bands, but through them knowing and acquiring their work, as I mentioned before, we like to keep the physical material of our favorite bands.

Cuéntanos algunas cosas sobre la nueva escena de metal subterráneo en Colombia, bandas, fanzine.
El público metalero en Colombia es numeroso, por lo que constantemente surgen nuevas bandas, se ha mantenido el espíritu de hermandad que encarna el heavy metal, a pesar de que conservar una banda en Colombia es difícil, puesto al trabajo que se requiere con las condiciones propias del pais, muchas veces sin los recursos necesarios, pero creemos que las ganas de crear metal son muy grandes en un país como el nuestro.

Tell us a few things about the new underground metal scene in Colombia, bands, fanzine.
The metal audience in Colombia is numerous, so new bands are constantly emerging, the spirit of brotherhood that heavy metal embodies has been maintained, despite the fact that keeping a band in Colombia is difficult, given the work that is required with the conditions of the country, often without the necessary resources, but we believe that the desire to create metal is very great in a country like ours.

¿Sabes algo sobre la escena del metal Helénico?
En Colombia últimamente ha sonado bastante el metal hecho en Grecia, en muchas ocasiones son influencia de bandas de aquí, bandas como Slaughtered Priest, Satan Wrath gustan mucho en este público, creemos que ese tipo de metal es uno de los más fuertes en esta escena, puesto que recogen muchos géneros, con bandas como Motorhead, Iron Maiden y Bathory. Hace unas semanas vino por primera vez Suicidal Angels a nuestro país, y el concierto fue una locura total, la audiencia fue numerosa.

Do you know anything about the Hellenic metal scene?
In Colombia lately metal made in Greece has sounded a lot, on many occasions they are influenced by bands from here, bands like Slaughtered Priest, Satan Wrath are very popular with this public, we believe that this type of metal is one of the strongest in this scene, since they cover many genres, with bands like Motorhead, Iron Maiden and Bathory. A few weeks ago Suicidal Angels came to our country for the first time, and the concert was totally crazy, the audience was large.

¿Cuáles son tus planes futuros?
Estamos realizando un Split con algunas bandas hermanas locales, una vez finalizado empezaremos a trabajar en el nuevo álbum, y de manera pronta girar por Suramérica. Después trabajar en hacer difusión por Estados Unidos y Europa para así llevar el mensaje de los Andes a todos ustedes, poderles llevar el show de Magmount y construir juntos una experiencia grata.

English:
What are your future plans?
We are doing a Split with some local sister bands, once it is finished we will start working on the new album, and soon tour South America. Then work on spreading the word throughout the United States and Europe in order to bring the message of the Andes to all of you, to be able to bring you the Magmount show and build a pleasant experience together.
