!!!THRASH METAL FROM ARGENTINA!!!
We had a conversation with Hellscreamer (Vocals/Guitars). Enjoy!
Welcome to the FILTHY DOGS OF METAL Webzine.
Tell us a few things about MARTHIRIO (Members, Starting Year etc).
First of all, welcome everyone to this interview! Marthirio started with the meeting of friends with the aim of having fun and making the music that we like the most, Metal! We started rehearsals in April 2018 and at the end of that year we had our first shows. In January 2019 we recorded in our faithful and noisy garage the first demo EP of the band "Ecleciastic Prohibition" joking with the acronym (E.P.)
You have recently released your album ''Mosh till Death''. What is the feedback from your audience as well as from the press?
Yes, we have recently released our long-awaited debut album, which we recorded at the end of 2020 and ended in 2021. The comments from the audience are very good, much better than expected! We have received many messages of support from all over the world! Normally bands with lyrics in Spanish do not usually have such a good acceptance.
Label or DIY and why?
We are still new to this, we produced and manufactured our demo in 2019 on our own. We still do not have experiences with labels.
Do you prefer Vinyl, Tape, CD or Digital Format and why is that?
I personally will ALWAYS prefer vinyl, it is a classic format, unmatched, a collector's item, and best of all ... it really sounds!
Your music style is Thrash Metal. Which are your main influences (Favourite Artists / Bands etc.)
My biggest influences in thrash metal are: Slayer, Sepultura, Sodom, D.R.I, Exodus, Forbidden, Annihilator, Vio-lence and more ... basically thrash from the '80s.
Which things, do you think, a Band should sacrifice in order to succeed? Have you ever sacrificed anything in your life for a better future of your Band?
I believe that what a band must sacrifice to be successful is time, time to rehearse, time to compose songs, time to give shows, time to promote your songs / album, but always keeping in mind the main thing, have fun!
Describe your ideal live show as a performance Band. Have you already experienced that?
Our ideal show would be a show with many friends, beer and fans singing our songs and making mosh all night! Fortunately, we have already experienced it and it was very good!
Which attributes, do you think, that a new Thrash Metal Band should have in order to gain identity and be unique?
I don't think I can put them in order, but this is my personal opinion:
-A vocalist with a way of singing that differs from others.
-A drummer with creativity.
-A guitarist with good solos.
-And play good shows.
Do you believe that Bandcamp and other Digital Platforms help the new Thrash Metal Bands? Which, do you think, is the ideal way for a Band to promote its work?
I think that digital platforms are the best way to promote a band or album lately, digital platforms are available to everyone and today it is the most viewed. Also do not forget about the old school!
Tell us a few things about the New Underground Metal Scene in Argentina (Bands, Fanzines, Webzines, Metal Clubs etc.)
The underground scene in Argentina is more alive than ever, many bands released their new albums and they sound really good. I think that the public of the world should take a look at what is happening in the Argentine scene, which is very interesting and powerful.
Do you know anything about the Hellenic Metal Scene?
Not too much, I don't remember hearing any band of that genre.
What are your future plans?
Our future plan is to reach all thrash metal lovers in the world with our album, so that they can enjoy "Mosh Till Death".
Thank you very much for your time & Keep up the good work! The closure is yours.
Thank you very much for the interview. In closing I want to thank all those who support the band, listen to Marthirio and make all this continue to grow day by day! Cold beer and a warm hug! And remember ... MOSH TILL DEATH!
