Tell us a few things about OSSARIO (Members, Starting Year etc).
Schizoid: Hail, Ossario are a Sicilian band devoted to the old school thrash black metal. The Project has been in the pipeline for some time, then I got in touch with two musicians I knew and things were done. Anamnesi from Simulacro and Ancient live member, who plays drums, while at vocals I recruited Krost Von Barbarie, alredy active in other band like Spasticus and Eraser. In short time during the pandemic situation in march/april 2020 we recoreded this 4 tracks for the debut EP.
You have recently released your EP ''Ossario''. What is the Feedback from your audience as well as from the Press?
Krost: A lot of people was well impressed, they found this first EP fresh and brutal, I guess because it's oldschool but not totally typical black metal, we also got many good reviews that pointed out this thing about our songs.
Label or DIY and why?
Krost: Why not both, two members on three of Ossario own a DIY label a selfproduced their releases since the first moments, but obviously we think label distribution and support is very important in metal underground circuits.
Do you prefer Vinyl, Tape, CD or Digital Format and why is that?
Krost: We like all physical formats from 7" and 12" vinyl till' CDs and tapes, streaming is useful for discovering new music and it makes your stuff turn around in the net, but to support music is to own physically bands' records, if you ask us.
Your music style is Black/Thrash Metal. Which are your main influences (Favourite Artists / Bands etc.)
Schizoid: Main sources of inspiration are old Darkthrone, Nunslaughter, Possessed, Aura Noir, Bunker 66.
Which things, do you think, a Band should sacrifice in order to succeed?
Have you ever sacrificed anything in your life for a better future of your Band?
Krost: We don't think that music is a job, for us at least, it's something you do for yourself mainly, but obviously it needs efforts/time/money.If it is a priority for you, no sacrifice is wasted, just well invested in your own passion.
Describe your ideal live show as a performance Band. Have you already experienced that?
Krost: We're not a live band, for now at least, We don't exclude to play live in the future, maybe in some particular and very exclusive occasion, that would be a proper way to call an ideal live show.
Which attributes, do you think, that a new Black/Thrash Metal Band should have in order to gain identity and be unique?
Krost: RIFFS, RIFFS, RIFFS, expressive vocals, good oldschool drumming, little money, satan, bitches.
Do you believe that Bandcamp and other Digital Platforms help the new Black/Thrash Metal Bands? Which, do you think, is the ideal way for a Band to promote its work?
Schizoid: Bandcamp is a good platform for selling records and merch and for promotion, for the rest I don't really like digital format.
Tell us a few things about the New Underground Metal Scene in Italy (Bands, Fanzines, Webzines, Metal Clubs etc.)
Schizoid: There are a lot of really great band in Italy like Bunker 66, Hellcrash, Fordomth, Krigere Wolf, Lich, Spasticus, Ortro. Also some good zines like Metal Redentor and Porrozine from Sicily.
Do you know anything about the Hellenic Metal Scene?
Schizoid: Yes, Hellenic Metal Scene is very important to me. My favourite band is Thou Art Lord. The sound of Hellenic scene from the 90's kick ass.
What are your future plans?
Schizoid: Actually we released a split with Lich, and in a few weeks there will be out a 9 tracks compilation on CD and MCS, then we'll get ready for a full length.
