Tell us a few things about PERSEKUTOR (Members, Starting Year etc).
Persekutor is starting around 2004, but is difficult to remember exact times. Many supporting member over years, but killer lineup since 2018 is Inverted Chris Velez on lead guitar, Adam Murray on lead bass and Scott Batiste on lead drum. Best guys.
You are going to release your new album ''Permanent Winter''. Tell us a few things about this project.
Yes, ''Permanent Winter'' is debut album for us. We are having EP and single before, but first full-length. Was long time in making because moving to California since last release. Songs is about Carpathian ice warriors, Transylvanian booze fighters and freezings to death. Except for last song “Black Death Punk Skins.” Excellent artworks is by Jef Whitehead from Leviathan.
Label or DIY and why?
Permanent Winter is releasing through Svart Records of Finland. We are doing DIY release in past, but we are wanting maximum exposure for first album. Svart is also releasing musics by Pentagram, Reverend Bizarre and Death SS, so is very good label for us.
Do you prefer Vinyl, Tape, CD or Digital Format and why is that?
We are vinyl persons first but having no problem with any other formats. Just personal preferences, yes. As we are saying often, we like vinyls because of expense and inconvenience.
Your music style is Black Metal. Which are your main influences (Favourite Artists / Bands etc.)
Favorite bands for us are AC/DC, Venom, Motörhead, WASP, Thin Lizzy, Darkthrone, Celtic Frost, Bathory, Immortal, Iron Maiden, Diamond Head, Def Leppard, Van Halen, Brainbombs and first two Mötley Crüe album.
Which things, do you think, a Band should sacrifice in order to succeed?
Is usual custom to sacrifice virgin or goat, yes. But goat is sacred for us, and sacrifice virgin is like capital crime I am thinking, so maybe are just sacrificing our future instead.
Have you ever sacrificed anything in your life for a better future of your Band?
I am sacrificing having normal life for musics everyday.
Describe your ideal live show as a performance Band. Have you already experienced that?
Ideal show for us is headline big Euro festivals like Hellfest or Wacken with audience singing all words and many ladies wanting to meet us after gig.
Which attributes, do you think, that a new Black Metal Band should have in order to gain identity and be unique?
Having killer songs and handsome faces is not hurting. Luckily we are having both of these things!
Do you believe that Bandcamp and other Digital Platforms help the new Metal Bands? Which, do you think, is the ideal way for a Band to promote its work?
Yes, Bandcamp is great supporters of underground music and helping bands with special waiving fees days. Also donating monies to good causes. Ideal way for band to promote work? Probably get Mutt Lange or Rick Rubin to produce album.
Tell us a few things about the New Underground Metal Scene in Romania (Bands, Fanzines, Webzines, Metal Clubs etc.)
Romania is having very small but supporting scene. Good people and cool bands, but not many opportunity for big gig or professional equipments. This is one of reason why I am moving to California couple years ago. Is very difficult for bands in Romania.
Do you know anything about the Hellenic Metal Scene?
We are not knowing anything about Hellenic scene, but hoping to play there one day after pandemic times is over!
