1. Tell us a few things about PROFANE OATH (Members, Starting Year etc).
Hi, we are Profane Oath and we are a black thrash metal band from Italy.
All started in 2018 when me (Mike The Unholy) and Drunken Bible felt the need to spread evil to desecrate dogmas and morals that sorround us. This is how Profane Oath is born and, in the same year, the desecration begins with giving life to "Unholy Hymns", which came out only on 26 February 2020. In the studio recording
2. You have recently released your EP ''Unholy Hymns''. What is the feedback from your audience as well as from the press?
We are truly proud of "Unholy Hymns" because in few days from its release we are receiving congratulations and support by fans of the extreme metal scene that bought it on Bandcamp and great opportunities from webzines to promote us with interviews.
3. Label or DIY and why?
The best way to start, in our opinion, is by being independent because it makes you proud to create something you care about from scratch and promote it around the world. The label represents an additional opportunity for distribution. So if there is any interested label to promote "Unholy Hymns" or to sign a contract, we'll be glad to collaborate!
4. Do you prefer Vinyl, Tape, CD or Digital Format and why is that?
We are both lovers of the 80's and 90's scene so we love vinyls and tapes but we like CD's too.
5. Your music style is Black/Thrash Metal. Which are your main influences (Favourite Artists / Bands etc.)
Main bands of inspiration are: Bathory, Motorhead, Mercyful Fate, Venom, Sarcofago, Mayhem, Dissection and Destroyer 666.
6. Which things, do you think, a Band should sacrifice in order to succeed? Have you ever sacrificed anything in your life for a better future of your Band?
For something we like and believe, we sacrifice ourselves to keep its name high.
7. Describe your ideal live show as a performance Band. Have you already experienced that?
We are working for that. Very soon we'll desecrate every stage we take.
8. Which attributes, do you think, that a new Black/Thrash Metal Band should have in order to gain identity and be unique?
For us it is important to be authentic in manifesting filthy speed, hatred, violence and roughness in our music
9. Do you believe that Bandcamp and other Digital Platforms help the new Black/Thrash Metal Bands? Which, do you think, is the ideal way for a Band to promote its work?
In recent years we have approached digital platforms because they help artists to promote their music more easily as Bandcamp, in which we are successfully selling digital copies of Unholy Hymns.
10. Tell us a few things about the New Underground Metal Scene in Italy (Bands, Fanzines, Webzines, Metal Clubs etc.)
We are part of the Italian underground scene, we love and support it since always.We are part of the Italian underground scene, we love it and support it.We always have many fantastic bands, who are also our friends, like Evil spell, Baphomet’s Blood, Violentor and many others.
11. Do you know anything about the Hellenic Metal Scene?
In Greek there are many great metal bands like Slaughtered Priest. We love his album "Iron Chains and Metal Blades"
12. What are your future plans?
Our future plans are to release a full length very soon and to share the stage with other evil bands.
