Tell us a few things about SADISTIC ROT (Members, Starting Year etc).
Sadistic Rot is a death metal band with an old school trend, the band was founded in 2012 under the name Sadistic, the lineup at that time differs completely from the current one, remaining only the founding member Mario Montenegro, and that until moment has had two musical releases.
In 2020 you have released your album ''Morbid Nightmare''. What was the Feedback from your audience as well as from the Press?
The album "Morbid Nightmare" had a great reception by the public from the first advances of it, I could say that the expectations of those who expected this release were fulfilled and this was possible thanks to our record label War March Records.
Label or DIY and why?
Label, this due to the diffusion and the organization at the time of distributing the musical work.
Do you prefer Vinyl, Tape, CD or Digital Format and why is that?
In my opinion, the best sound will always be in analog format, and that is what it is aimed at with future Sadistic Rot releases.
Your music style is Death Metal. Which are your main influences (Favourite Artists / Bands etc.)
Among our biggest influences are bands like Sepultura, Unleashed, Cancer, Pestilence, Immolation, Benediction, Entombed.
Which things, do you think, a Band should sacrifice in order to succeed?
Have you ever sacrificed anything in your life for a better future of your Band?
Beyond time and money, assume the commitment of a band and if necessary, dispense with members who do not have said commitment, as has already happened to us, and I think those have been the biggest sacrifices we have had to make for the band, to stop having musicians who have even become like brothers.
Describe your ideal live show as a performance Band. Have you already experienced that?
Our ideal concert will always be to play for people who feel death metal with the same passion that we do, fortunately we have had the opportunity to live that experience in the vast majority of our concerts.
Which attributes, do you think, that a new Death Metal Band should have in order to gain identity and be unique?
In my experience, the most important thing is perseverance and being firm in what they want to do as a band, without losing focus, maintaining the same motivation as the first concerts for more years that pass.
Do you believe that Bandcamp and other Digital Platforms help the new Death Metal Bands? Which, do you think, is the ideal way for a Band to promote its work?
As a matter of internationalization, I would say that it helps a lot in terms of the distribution of the bands' releases, I honestly do not know much about digital platforms to say that one is better than another, regardless of whether my band is currently in them.
Tell us a few things about the New Underground Metal Scene in Colombia (Bands, Fanzines, Webzines, Metal Clubs etc.)
Colombia has a strong history when it comes to metal music, it is the cradle of bands with a very extreme and raw sound which has also been a source of inspiration, bands such as Masacre, Sarcoma, Neurosis, and in terms of fanzines in my opinion the most important of them is HellZine by Mr. Cesar Mejia.
Do you know anything about the Hellenic Metal Scene?
Honestly not much, but I do know some bands that I like a lot like Septicflesh, Acid Death and of course Rotting Christ.
What are your future plans?
Mainly releasing a second album and playing in as many places as possible, our dream in terms of touring is to tour Europe doing death metal.
