Welcome to the FILTHY DOGS OF METAL Webzine.
Tell us a few things about STRIKEHAMMER (Members, Starting Year etc).
Strikehammer is a band born in 2022. We were a duo (Wild Warrior and Terrifikant) and our Swiss friend J. (drummer in Malphas) recorded drums for us. Then Akira joined us for live gigs, and now he is an official member. And here we are, a wild, belligerent, power trio!
You have recently released your EP ''Chaotic Spell''. What is the feedback from your audience as well as from the press?
Even if we released it without a label, the Chaotic Spell EP is spreading like a disease and lot of people are enjoying it!
Label or DIY and why?
It depends.
Do you prefer Vinyl, Tape, CD or Digital Format and why is that?
We prefer Vinyls in the 99% of the cases. But of course, in 2023 you have to promote your band even on digital platforms.
Your music style is Speed / Black 'n' Roll. Which are your main influences (Favourite Artists / Bands etc.)
Our main influences are basically black/thrash stuff and classic heavy metal, every kind of blasphemy and too much alcohol!
Which things do you think a band should sacrifice in order to succeed? Have you ever sacrificed anything in your life for a better future for your band?
We think it's a question of decisions and equilibrium, always. But yes, sometimes you have to sacrifice something. The dreams are sacrifice.
Describe your ideal live show as a performance band. Have you already experienced that?
Live shows are the best part of doing this stuff. We always try to give our best to the crowd, and now we are working on some scene stuff for the stage!
What attributes do you think that a new Black/Speed Metal Band should have in order to gain identity and be unique?
It's all about having riffs and balls.
Do you believe that Digital Platforms help the new Black/Speed Metal Bands? Which, do you think, is the ideal way for a band to promote its work?
In our opinion it's extremely important to promote music on digital platforms and physical copies both.
Tell us a few things about the New Underground Metal Scene in Italy (Bands, Fanzines, Webzines, Metal Clubs etc.)
Man, you better come here at some underground festival and see with your eyes. It's always a big party and most of the cases there's a brotherhood atmosphere between the bands. You will be welcome!
Do you know anything about the Hellenic Metal Scene?
We are big Ravencult fans, love their records! And what about Varathron? Simply legends! And if we wanna talk about thrash, we really like Suicidal Angels!
The last 3 years, worldwide in the world, we have faced many dark, strange & new situations in our everyday life (covid, lock-down etc.) Did all of this affect you positively or negatively?
We think the situation influenced all of us with positivity (.....ahahah...) because it gaved to all more desire to play on stage again!
What are your future plans?
Our only plan is kickin' asses on stage, keep drinking and of course recording new stuff!
