Welcome to the FILTHY DOGS OF METAL Webzine.
Tell us a few things about URSUS (Members, Starting Year etc).

The band was founded 23 years ago, the current members are: Felix Zamora singer, Camilo Toquica Guitar, Mario Cruz Bassist and Diana Cañon on drums

In 2021 you released your album ''Garra de Acero''. What was the feedback from your audience as well as from the press?

Fortunately, all the albums we have released have been well received by our public and we have made friends and alliances with many media outlets who have offered us all their support.

Label or DIY and why?

Both of them. We think that working with a record label helps to better spread music, but working independently is also good because we seek to get ahead through our own efforts.

Do you prefer Vinyl, Tape, CD or Digital Format and why is that?

We prefer vinyl, but unfortunately we know that it is much more expensive.

Your music style is Speed/Thrash Metal. Which are your main influences (Favourite Artists / Bands etc.)

Our influence bands have been Motorhead, Baron Rojo (Spain), Arkangel (Venezuela) and all old school metal.

Which things, do you think, a Band should sacrifice in order to succeed? Have you ever sacrificed anything in your life for a better future of your Band?

To be successful you always have to sacrifice something, we have had to sacrifice work, time with the family, money, many things.

Describe your ideal live show as a performance Band. Have you already experienced that?

Yes, we did that. we were the band that opened the Motorhead show in Colombia, that was an incredible experience. we have also played in many big festivals in our country, and with great artists, each date was special

Which attributes, do you think, that a new Speed/Thrash Metal Band should have in order to gain identity and be unique?

They must believe in themselves, not copy from others but play the music that comes from their own hearts.

Do you believe that Digital Platforms help the new Speed/Thrash Metal Bands? Which, do you think, is the ideal way for a Band to promote its work?

Digital platforms in this new era are very helpful for the dissemination of your art, however we believe that live shows are what really shows the soul of music.

Tell us a few things about the New Underground Metal Scene in Colombia (Bands, Fanzines, Webzines, Metal Clubs etc.)

Colombia has a wide variety of bands, and the scene is very crowded, we have good bands like Darkness, Massacre, Cobra, Sobibor, and many more. As for clubs, we have Jersey Bar, Open Light Bar, Jaihouse Bar, several theaters, and media, we have Radionica, Metal-Judan, Subterranica, el fortin_del_caballero_negro, Rockombia, iron-fist zine, and others.
