Interview with VULTÜR

Welcome to the FILTHY DOGS OF METAL Webzine!

Tell us a bit about VULTÜR (members, formation year, etc.).
Vultür Is a 5 pieces band that came to life more or less three years ago. We used to play a heavy sounding thrash metal, that evolved into death thrash.

You’re about to release your debut EP, ''Necrophagy''. Can you tell us more about this project?
"Necrophagy" is our first EP. It is made of four songs plus an intro, mixing the influences that gave birth to our sound, like classic thrash, punk, death and speed metal.

The cover artwork has a fantastic atmosphere. Who is the graphic designer behind it, and what is the meaning behind the artwork?
The designer is Fabio Fontana, the same guy who did the amazing artwork for our friends Blood Offer. The meaning behind this album cover is the monstruosity of the violences that we scream about.

And what about the lyrics?
Our lyrics are about violence, in every form. They are about the pain that humans go through, both physically and mentally. We sing about the need of freedom too, and about esotericism.

How did your collaboration with Murder Records come about?
We came across Murder Records thanks to guys in bands that we know, they recommended Murder to us. Also, we choose Murder Records because of the genres that they promote, finding them similar to ours.

Do you have any funny or strange stories from the recording process or your live shows that you’d like to share with us?
A funny event that happened during the drum recordings was being locked out of the room after going out for a break. instead it happened several times that the Sample of our intro "labyrinth of the lost souls", that we brought on stage, several times started at the wrong time during the execution of the following tracks.

Your music style is Death/Thrash Metal. Who are your main influences (favorite artists/bands, etc.)?
Our main influences are Nunslaughter, Unleashed, Master and Bathory.

What do you think a band must sacrifice in order to succeed? Have you ever sacrificed anything in your life for the band's future?
In our opinion its not about sacrifice, its about avoid things that could stop or slow us down. Or you can sacrifice a good ol' goat.

Describe your ideal live show as a performing band. Have you had the chance to experience that yet?
We played a few shows in small venues, opening for bands like Morbus Grave. It was fun, our live shows feel like getting eaten alive by morbid vultures.

Do you believe digital platforms help new metal bands? In your opinion, what is the ideal way for a band to promote its music?
Of course, in a time like the one we live in it is really important to promote stuff on the internet. Everyone uses it, and you have to use it as a resource.

Can you share some insights into the new underground metal scene in Italy (bands, fanzines, webzines, metal clubs, etc.)?
The underground metal scene in Italy is made by bands like Ignobleth, Duskvoid, Scytge of Mephisto, Bloodoffer and Melmoth. With those bands we created the Deathcult Legion, an union of brother-like bands, supporting each other and playing live shows together.

What are your future plans?
We hope to be playing on bigger stages in bigger venues, we would love to open for bands on an higher level.

Thank you very much for your time! Keep up the great work. The final words are yours.
Thank you for your questions, have a nice one!
