Tell us a few things about WITCHES SACRIFICE (Members, Starting Year etc).
Greetings for the readers of FILTHY DOGS OF METAL. Of course, Witches Sacrifice is a metal band from Colombia. The idea was born in 2015, but was consolidated around 2017 with Andrés on vocals, Yerson on guitar, "Metrallo" on bass and Jeyson on drums. We wanted to unite old sounds of metal as thrash, black and some heavy, rock and roll and punk.
In 2019 you have released your EP ''Pacto Maldito''. What is the feedback from your audience as well as from the press?
Of this EP we released 50 copies on tape format and these was sold in little time. Some people say that is good but they want listen us in a full length with a sound more professional.
Label or DIY and why?
The tape was self-managed, because any label had been interested by us. But the label Metal Force Records invited us to make part of a Colombian metal compilation released in cd format and distributed in some Colombian cities and out of country, there we included two unpublished songs.
Do you prefer Vinyl, Tape, CD or Digital Format and why is that?
We prefer physical format by the content and visual work. However, digital format help reach more people.
Your music style is Black/Speed Metal. Which are your main influences (Favourite Artists / Bands etc.)
Black Sabbath, Destruction, Nocturnal, Reencarnación (Col), Blasfemia (Col), Hellhammer, Desaster, Motorhead, Sodom, Inepsy, Nifelheim, Venom, Omega, etc.
Which things, do you think, a Band should sacrifice in order to succeed? Have you ever sacrificed anything in your life for a better future of your Band?
Anything that gets in the way of the band. We have sacrificed time (some with the family) and money.
Describe your ideal live show as a performance Band. Have you already experienced that?
A metal band should give 666% of theyself, be strong in scene, transmit energy to the people and they to answer equally, singing the songs, mad headbanging as fucking crazies. In each concert has been get better the answer of the people.
Which attributes, do you think, that a new Black/Speed Metal Band should have in order to gain identity and be unique?
It is difficult to stand out in the large number of existing bands. However, you must be honest with the sound, forceful and strong on stage, without wanting to copy the influences.
Do you believe that Digital Platforms help the new Black/Speed Metal Bands? Which, do you think, is the ideal way for a Band to promote its work?
Yes, digital platforms help to promote the different bands, no import the genre. We believe that physical format accompanied of digital format is a good form for promote the work made.
Tell us a few things about the New Underground Metal Scene in Colombia (Bands, Fanzines, Webzines, Metal Clubs etc.)
Many high-quality bands of different genres have emerged in Colombia, which is why the offer of events has increased. These bands promote their work on the networks and the different zines and webzines that are interested in their work. There are some bars that rent space and sound for organizers to hold events there.
Do you know anything about the Hellenic Metal Scene?
We sorry, we know almost nothing about the Hellenic Metal Scene, but we have listened bands as Rotting Christ, Ezgaroth, Slaughtered Priest, Omega or Böneyard. The homework will be listen more Greek metal.
What are your future plans?
For this year, finalize compositions for one more EP and our first full length.
