!!!HARD 'N' HEAVY METAL FROM THE USA!!!
Welcome to the FILTHY DOGS OF METAL Webzine.
Tell us a few things about WYLD RYDE (Members, Starting Year etc).
Wyld Ryde is a Hard Rock/Heavy Metal band from Louisville, Ky that formed in 2017. The band members are Chief-Lead Vocals/Lead Guitar, Tommy Blitz-Lead Guitar/Vocals, Mick Watkins-Bass Guitar,Vocals, Kidd Vicious-Drums.
You have recently released your album ''Gasoline Alley''. What is the feedback from your audience as well as from the press?
The feedback has been GREAT! People love the album and generally think it’s an improvement performance wise and production wise over the debut release.
Label or DIY and why?
DIY has worked for us because in this day and age anything a lot of labels can do for you,you can do yourself if you’ve got the knowledge and drive. But if we where approached by the right label with the right deal it’s something we’d possibly consider.
Do you prefer Vinyl, Tape, CD or Digital Format and why is that?
We love all formats really because each reaches a different demographic of fan. As far as releasing our music as a band we’ve only released CDs, but we’re looking into Cassettes. Vinyl we’d LOVE to produce but it’s expensive so that may have to wait. But yeah we plan on releasing our music on every format.
Your music style is Hard 'n' Heavy Metal. Which are your main influences (Favourite Artists / Bands etc.)
Collectively as a band I’d say our biggest influences are KISS, Mötley Crüe, Judas Priest, Thin Lizzy and Metallica. But of course we all have our own individual influences as well and those range from artist such as Blue Öyster Cult, Cheap Trick, Guns n Roses and Accept. You throw all of that together and you get WYLD RYDE.
Which things, do you think, a Band should sacrifice in order to succeed? Have you ever sacrificed anything in your life for a better future of your Band?
I think one of the biggest things we’ve sacrificed as a band is TIME. Time away from our families and friends , rehearsing, traveling on the road, playing gigs etc. That’s something that you really can make up. But you’ve only got one shot at this life so you’ve just gotta go for it.
Describe your ideal live show as a performance Band. Have you already experienced that?
Every show is the ideal live show! Give us a stage, a sweaty, energetic Rock and Roll crowd and we’ll show you a good fucking time.
Which attributes, do you think, that a new Heavy Metal Band should have in order to gain identity and be unique?
Just be true to yourself and your craft, Don’t try to imitate any one band. Rather you like it or not Social Media is probably the strongest asset that we have nowadays. Almost as important as playing shows.
Tell us a few things about the New Underground Metal Scene in Louisville, Kentucky (Bands, Fanzines, Webzines, Metal Clubs etc.)
The Louisville music scene is pretty strong right now. Lots of different styles of Rock/Metal are represented. Louisville loves its late 90s/Early 00s “Nu Metal” sound. Which is not us! Lots of good bands but good venues are getting hard to find as a lot of them are closing unfortunately.
Do you know anything about the Hellenic Metal Scene?
No we don’t know much of the Hellenic Metal Scene but it’s definitely something we’d love to check out!
What are your future plans?
Future plans are to continue kicking ass, playing shows, building our fanbase and a strong relationship with our audience. We also are planning to release our 3rd EP in the next 6 months or so.
Thank you very much for your time & Keep up the good work! The closure is yours.
