BEAST is a traditional heavy metal band hailing from Osnabrück, Lower Saxony. Whenever I have heard metal bands from Germany (from the late 70s till today) I always know that will satisfy my metal appetite to the max. 100% guarantee for my heavy metal taste, and yes, BEAST is a band that covers that! Almost a month ago we had a very interesting conversation with Julian Kröger (Drums), which you can read HERE. BEAST has been an active band since 2019. In 2020, they released their 5-song demo, ''Demo 2020'', and after 4 years, they are back.to bring us true heavy metal music with power and epic metal elements. ''Ancient Powers Rising'' is their debut full-length studio album, released on the 15th of November, and it contains 8 compositions of pure metal magic!You will travel to a fantasy world where dragons, warriors, demons, and wizards will be your company. The opening song of the album is ''Behead the Dragon,'' such a powerful song that brings you back to the glorious days of true heavy metal. Killer guitar work with an unforgettable refrain that will stick to your mind. The second song is ''In the Name of the Horned One''. A pounding metal song with an epic atmosphere, beautiful melodic vocals, and an awesome guitar solo. Also, don't forget to check the music video. In the continue we hear the same title, ''Ancient Powers Rising''. Crunchy metallic guitar riffs with an harmonic and passionate refrain will travel you into a strange dimension with dark horizons where evil demons walk the earth! Great tune!! The fourth song is ''Kingdom of Steel''. Hmm.. what do you except to hear when you see in the title strong words like ''kingdom'' and ''steel''..?Just pure power epic metal song!! Very heavy with double bass drumming and relentless guitar riffs with a great slow part in the middle of the song! Fifth song ''Ride the Tempest'' is my favorite and, in my opinion, the highlight (together with ''Shadows from the Arcane Tower'') song of the album!Only 2 words here: KILLER METAL!! Check also the official music video on their Youtube channel. The sixth song is ''Shadows from the Arcane Tower''. Oh Gee!! This one, together with ''Ride the Tempest,'' I have heard them more than 12 times!A high-energy metallic storm that will blow your speakers and bring you 90s power metal nostalgia! AWESOME!!! The seventh song is ''Swords are Burning''. A slower (hahaha,''slower'' for a power metal band, not a real slow), more atmospheric track, full of heavy riffs, epic metal to the bone with a powerful build-up that showcases the band’s versatility. The last song is ''Mystery of the Lonesome Rider,'' and it is the longest track of the album with a total time of 10.17.An anthemic power metal song that begs to be sung along to at live shows. The production is solid and heavy recorded, mixed, and mastered by Matthias Lohmöller at DocMaKlang Studios. Last but not least, I should mention here the wonderful cover artwork designed by Giannis Nakos, Remedy Art Design & Layout by Matthias Schönhoff.And for the vinyl maniacs, ''Ancient Powers Rising'' will be released via My Ruin/Koloss. ''Ancient Powers Rising'' is a powerful addition to the metal discography, filled with heavy riffs, epic melodies, and poignant lyrics. It’s an album that demands to be played loud!
