''Czerń Północy'' is a split album released on CD by GAROTA & SCRÜDA and marks the first release of 2025 from the Polish record label Godz Ov War Productions (Hail Greg!). Over the past few years, the Polish metal scene has produced great bands across all metal genres. ''Czerń Północy'' begins with GAROTA, and we’re immediately thrust into chaos with "Zapomniane groby" ("Forgotten Graves," if I’m right!). Heavily influenced by blackened speed metal, it opens with hellish riffing before quickly erupting into frantic black metal energy, complete with sinister and relentless vocals. A killer song! Next is ''Mój czarny rytuał trwa,'' an aggressive black metal track that starts with a "punky" bass and drum intro before immediately transforming into a classic black metal song. Blast beats to the max, sharp riffs, and a cold atmosphere make this a true black metal anthem. The third track is GAROTA's final offering on this split, "Gdzie wiedźmy tańczą nago z Diabłem" ("Where Witches Dance Naked with the Devil" - hahaha, what a killer title). It's pure black chaotic brilliance, with lightning-fast guitar leads, pounding drums, and sinister lyrical themes about witches and devils. Very nice. SCRÜDA’s opening song, "To idzie" ("It Goes"), introduces their chaotic black thrash metal with crust elements. It’s a slap in the face! "Wężowe serce nienawiści" ("Serpent Heart of Hate") follows with fast, relentless aggression, creating a sense of dread as the riffing becomes more menacing and the drums pound harder. The refrain has a hardcore/punk aesthetic that will make you want to shout it out - ideal for a live show! "Dno" ("Bottom," if I’m right?) is the shortest song from SCRÜDA (only 01:39). It has a dark atmosphere, rhythmic and torturous, reminiscent of EXPLOITED's "Troops of Tomorrow," but with a black metal twist that quickly turns into a hellish black metal tornado! The closing track, "Sąd ostateczny" ("The Last Judgment"), brings things full circle, offering one last hit of savage black thrash metal/punk, with all the elements that have come to define SCRÜDA’s style - powerful, aggressive, and relentless.
