THE DEAD FLOWERS GRAVES - ELEMENTO

Country: Italy
Year: 2024
Label: Argonauta Records

WOW!! What we have here is the latest EP from THE DEAD FLOWERS GRAVES, released on the 25th of October, 2024. ''Elemento'' contains four tracks of heavy occult doom metal. As I mentioned in my review of their second EP, ''Spectrum'' (which you can read HERE), THE DEAD FLOWERS GRAVES deliver a haunting, atmospheric journey under the banner of Occult Heavy Doom Metal. ''Elemento'' is clearly more mature than its predecessor. The songs feel more layered, heavier, and ultimately more direct in their impact on the listener. The atmosphere of the songs is menacing, at times even terrifying, as if you’re trapped in a '70s horror film, surrounded by zombies with no way to escape. This particular sensation is most pronounced in the second track, "Bones Of The Mother." The use of keyboards especially enhances the magical, creepy vibe, adding to the sense of impending doom.  19.03’s voice (Happy Birthday!! Today is 19/03) is mesmerizing, especially in the first track, "Behind The Void" (my favorite song). Her voice exudes a seductive, almost erotic quality, perfectly complementing the grandeur and epic mood of the music. The composition is filled with doomy drums, heavy bass lines, powerful guitar riffs, and dark, atmospheric keyboards. In the third track, "Through The Doors,"19.03 gives it her all-her performance is emotional, atmospheric, and dynamic, particularly in the beautiful chorus and the KILLER guitar solo. Perfect! ''Elemento'' closes with "As the Flame Burns," a track that begins with haunting, horrific guitar riffs reminiscent of DEATH SS (from the glorious era with the mighty Paul Chain). The song continues with 19.03’s beautiful, otherworldly voice, which she delivers with both beauty and a demonic edge-as if she were a priestess performing a dark ritual. It’s a very dark song with a menacing atmosphere, a fitting and powerful conclusion to the album. The production is excellent-warm, dynamic, and clean. The CD edition comes in a Digipak packaging with a black-and-white cover artwork that perfectly captures the album's mysterious and creepy atmosphere. The image of a hooded figure carrying a burning flame into the woods is intriguing-who is he going to meet? The black crow knows... I thoroughly enjoy the music and atmosphere of THE DEAD FLOWERS GRAVES, and I wish them all the best for the future. Well done, guys!  Oh... I shouldn’t forget to remind you, boys and girls, to check out an interesting conversation with THE DEAD FLOWERS GRAVES HERE. For fans of PAUL CHAIN, THE DEVIL'S BLOOD, BLOOD CEREMONY, JESS AND THE ANCIENT ONES, etc... ''Elemento'' is a must-listen!
